Hyundai plans to manufacture electric vehicles with local batteries in Indonesia from August 2024, including the Ioniq 5 model, capitalizing on the country’s EV tax incentives. Hyundai Energy Indonesia will use batteries from the joint venture with LG New Energy for locally produced EVs.

As part of their restructured alliance, Nissan will invest up to €600 million in Renault’s EV division, Ampere. This move strengthens cooperation and positions Nissan as a strategic investor, potentially holding around 6% ownership in Ampere.
